Local Nonprofits To Bring Ukrainian Cultural Exchange Event To East Tennessee

United Through Art and Music: Charity Art Auction ft. Marki Lucky

As we approach the two-year mark since Russia’s full-scale invasion and a decade since the onset of war in Ukraine, it’s essential to consider the enduring strength of the Ukrainians and the lasting impact of these events. It is also crucial to continue our effort to support those affected by the war while ensuring the victory of Ukraine in its pursuit of freedom and stability.

This year, we invite you, your family, and your friends to support our initiatives and attend the “United Through Art and Music: Charity Art Auction featuring Marki Lucky” (UTAM) or donate to our online campaign if you cannot participate in the event: by clicking here!. UTAM is possible through a joint effort between East TN-based nonprofit organizations koloHUB and RESTORE UKRAINE, and will take place on Saturday, February 24th, from 3:00-6:00 pm at The Emporium Center in Knoxville, Tennessee, and is part of the global initiative “Believe in Ukraine.”

During the event, guests will have a unique opportunity to join a silent art auction featuring remarkable artworks rescued from Ukraine and enjoy a violin performance by Knoxville-based artist from Ukraine, Marki Lucky. The personal testimonies of many artists and Ukrainian folk music will immerse everyone in the rich culture of Ukraine. This event presents a unique opportunity for guests from across the globe to experience significant stories about Ukrainian heritage, culture, and aspirations.

With contributions from the art auctions and a fundraising campaign, we aim to raise $15,000. Donations will benefit three selected Ukrainian charities that support children in need (Dobrodiy Club), deliver medical aid to Ukrainian paramedics (Hospitallers), and provide comprehensive care and shelter for animals (Happy Paw) as well as RESTORE UKRAINE’s initiative to provide construction material vouchers at no cost to households that were damaged from air strikes this winter.

Guests can also participate in a raffle (min. donation of $25) to win one of the thirty Ukrainian cultural gifts personally selected by the koloHUB President during her recent trip to Ukraine. Furthermore, guests can enjoy delicious Ukrainian food and non-alcoholic drinks (free of charge). At the event, we will also have Ukrainian baked goods for sale and a bar.

With your help, we can reach our goal and continue fundraising, increasing awareness and improving the lives of devastated people and animals in Ukraine.

“The art and music will tell you a story that words never will. Thanks to The Emporium Center, Knoxville can see the footprint of war laid bare in many forms,” Yaro Hnatusko, the founder of RESTORE UKRAINE, said.
