In a partnership with Atlant, Restore Ukraine has converted the company’s headquarters and warehouses into shelters and food banks for displaced civilians in Kharkiv.
Atlant is a supply chain company based out of Kharkiv that serves as the largest distributor of wholesale building materials in Ukraine. At the onset of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Atlant set aside commercial concerns and converted its headquarters and warehouses into shelters and food banks for Kharkiv’s displaced civilians. By recognizing a desperate need for services, Atlant has also transitioned its corporate restaurant into a kitchen facility that has the capacity to provide several thousand meals a day to displaced civilians. The transition of Atlant’s facilities to serve the war-ravaged community has become what is now known as Restore Ukraine.
Currently, Restore Ukraine is providing 500 total meals per day and sheltering anywhere from 150 to 300 residents at a time. All other food supplies in the city are exhausted, and food delivery from other locations has been destabilized, creating a crisis of rampant hunger and poverty. On average, three meals for the entire day costs $4.50 and that price keeps rising due to infrastructure damage that causes massive shortages across the country. Every day, it is a matter of life or death to feed Kharkiv residents that became cut off from sustainable supplies and completely reliant on humanitarian aid. The city has lost its capability to sustain its own residents with the protection, healthcare, provision, and basic accommodation needs. Restore Ukraine’s services have proven critical to the survival and well-being of Kharkiv’s families and individuals.

At $4.50 for three nutritious three meals, it currently costs $2,250 to feed 500 people a day. We have already prepared a distribution center for food and vital materials in our warehouses in order to provide other shelters with sustainable supplies that all neighborhoods can rely on. To tackle the issue of famine, we will be expanding our kitchen services and teams of volunteers to satisfy the immediate needs of Kharkiv residents. This includes setting up field kitchens in areas such as the underground metro and delivering supplies to the areas where the food desert is on the rise.
Once the war is over, the transition of our facilities and food banks to serve our communities will expand to rebuilding residents’ homes, neighborhoods, and city infrastructure. We will secure the prosperity of the Ukrainian families who were forced to flee the genocide inflicted by the Russian army. With your help, Restore Ukraine will continue to support all of those who want to come back home or remained and survived Russian atrocities. We know that “love begins at home,” and we will restore what has been taken away – a place where children are reared by loving parents. With the two new restoration programs, Restore Ukraine will offer temporary and permanent living accommodations for small and large families. Based on the results of the damage assessments in Kharkiv, the two prospective programs are constructing a refugee center for returning families and restoration of family homes that came under direct fire from bombshells.
