After more than 5,000 miles of travel, an American-collected container of humanitarian aid landed in Ukraine

22,845 pounds of warm linens, including apparel, shoes and bedding came from the United States to Ukraine. We reenacted the journey taken by the container before the gathered items reached the hands of destitute Ukrainians.

The collection and delivery of warm clothing and blankets to Ukraine was a laborious undertaking. We connected a number of colleges, churches and other organizations to gather the necessary supplies. Thank you so much to everyone who supported us!

After collection, the clothing and blankets were brought to a warehouse in the US. There, sorting and packaging were completed, and boxes were loaded into the container using specialized machinery.

The container company then had to transport the container to the port via rail. Once the shipment was on the water, tons of valuable supplies were shipped to Poland.

We made an agreement with another organization in Poland, which unloaded the container on the spot and coordinated the shipment of supplies by trucks to Ukraine. The cargo arrived at its ultimate destination, the city of Kharkiv, after traveling more than a thousand kilometers through Ukraine.

In Kharkiv, all the items gathered by our friends in the USA were placed in another warehouse by Restore Ukraine staff members. These vital gifts from across the ocean have a brief journey ahead of them: inventory, sorting and delivery to the homes of Ukrainians who fled the war without possessions or valuables. They left their homes, belongings and memories in occupied territory — all of their lives, which had been happy until February 24, 2022. They require support now more than ever.

Despite the vast distance separating the US and Ukraine, your support truly warms the hearts of the Ukrainian people!
